Війна підштовхнула багатьох українців опановувати нові спеціальності. Високий інтерес до ІТ спостерігався і до повномасштабного вторгнення росії, а зараз попит на навчання зріс у рази.⠀

Кожен із нас на початку кар’єри хотів би, щоб досвідчений фахівець дав нам пораду щодо професійного розвитку. Тому ми запитали поради у технічних спеціалістів щодо софт- та хард-скілів необхідних для успішної кар’єри. 

Тож які навички необхідні junior-розробникам?🧑🏻‍💻

1.Важливо добре розуміти ключові концепції Computer Science,

алгоритим, структури даних,теорію обчислень та інші.
Вони дуже сильно допоможуть у вивченні будь яких технологій, та полегшать процесс навчання.

2.Інструменти CD\CI. Це може бути Jenkins,Gitlab, Github. Важливо на достатньому рівні знати хоча б один з них , адже надалі буде набагато простіше перелаштуватись на той , який використовується на проєкті.

3.Також надавати уваги вивченню технологій JavaScript ,Node JS, SQL DB, noSQL DB. Предметних областей – роботи  браузера, проєктування тощо.

4.Мати критичне мислення на початку використовування нових інструментів на роботі. Потрібно одразу витратити  достатньо часу на аналіз, вивчення можливостей та вимог інструменті, а потім вже  приймати рішення щодо його  використання.

5.Варто розвивати звичку постійного самонавчання.Це одна з ключових рис  кожного інженера у IT. Розвивайтеся кожного дня. Дивіться відео,курси, читайте різні статті  – це сформує корисну звичку бути дисциплінованим.

6.Не соромтесь просити про до помогу. Бо це є найшвидший спосіб отримати достовірну та вірну інформацію та подолати свої сумніви.

7. Потрібно розвивати софт скіли. Вміти писати код це дуже добре. А софт скіли допоможуть вам спілкуватися з колегами та замовниками.

8.Намагайтеся бути професіоналом  на будь я кому місці.

Вміння знаходити мотивацію, зацікавленість і можливість чомусь навчитись робить  з спеціаліста – профі. Навіть в тих задачах які тебе не дуже цікавлять.

9.Потрібно шукати натхнення в будь яких речах. Книжки , журнали, фільми та серіали, все це може допомогти вам у досягненні вашої мети та нового натхнення.

10.Тягнутися до найкращих. Бути командним гравцем та брати гарні звички та ідеї  у своїх колег.Не можна зупинятися у розвитку і командні ідеї можуть цьому сприяти. Більше спілкуватися з колегами з інших напрямків,для того щоб розуміти весь ланцюг  розробки проекту.

Як додаткові вимоги у кожного напряму можуть бути свої: наприклад досвід роботи з базами даних та розуміння принципів мережевої взаємодії для backend розробників, основи верстки та вміння працювати зі стилями для frontend, робота з графікою для розробника ігор тощо.

У більшості випадків компанії наймають на роботу Junior-розробників з прицілом виростити Middle або Senior, тому для джуна основними якостями я вважаю прагнення до саморозвитку та прокачування хард-скіллів, уміння правильно ставити питання та пошук та вивчення інформації.

У поточній ситуації в умовах віддаленої роботи на перше місце виходять також тайм-менеджмент та вміння вести комунікацію у письмовій формі. Тому, окрім технічних навичок, потрібно мати навички та вміння вести діалог, комунікабельність та вміння думати у разі, коли не знаєш відповіді на запитання.

The war has made many Ukrainians master new professions. A high level of interest in IT had been noticed before russia’s full-scale invasion, and now the demand for studying has grown multiple times. 

Every one of us wishes they were given advice on the professional growth of an experienced specialist at the beginning of their career. Hence, we asked our technical specialists to provide tips on soft and hard skills required for successful growth. 

So, what are the skills junior developers need to obtain?

1.It’s crucial to be good at Computer Science basics, algorithms, data structure, computability theory, and others.
Such knowledge helps in learning any technology, as well as eases the studying process.

2.CD/CI tools. That may be Jenkins, Gitlab, or Github. It’s important to be familiar with just one of them since it makes it easier to adapt to the one that is used on the project. 

3.Pay attention to learning JavaScript, Node.js, SQL DB, noSQL DB. Subject fields, like browser workflow, projecting, etc.

4.Have a critical approach when you start using new tools in work. It’s required to spend enough time analyzing, and learning the possibilities and requirements of the tool, and only after that decide whether you are going to use it.

5.Develop self-learning skills. That is one of the key features of all IT engineers. Self-develop on a daily basis. Watch videos, and courses, and read various articles, this forms a great habit of being disciplined.

6.Don’t hesitate to ask for guidance. That is the fastest way to get the appropriate and correct information to deal with your doubts. 

7.Develop your soft skills. Being skilled at coding is great, while soft skills are to help you communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.

8.Do your best and be a professional at all times. The skills of finding motivation, interest, and an opportunity to learn something make a specialist a pro. This also relates to tasks you are not much interested in.

9.Get inspired by anything. Books, magazines, movies, and TV shows, all of that may help you in reaching your goal and new inspiration.

10.Reach for the best. Being a team player and obtaining good habits and ideas from your colleagues. Don’t stop in self-development, and team ideas can impact that. Communicate with colleagues that work in different directions to understand the entire chain of the project development. 

Additional requirements may vary depending on a direction; for instance, experience in working with databases and understanding the main principles of network interaction for back-end developers, layout basics and being skilled in working with styles for front-end, working with graphics for game developers, etc. 

For the most part, companies hire Junior developers aiming to bring up a Middle or a Senior; hence, I believe that the main features of a junior are thriving for self-development and improving hard skills, being good at asking questions, and looking for and learning information. In the current situation, when we work in conditions of remote cooperation, time management and the ability to communicate in written form also come first.

Therefore, in addition to technical skills, it’s a must to have good communication skills, sociability, and the ability to think when you do not know the answer to a question.
